This delicious slow cook recipe can be used for any type of meat for tacos, burritos, nachos, or bowls. It is the original recipe from our food truck’s venison tacos.
Chili Powder Blend:
1 tablespoon chili powder
2 teaspoons cumin powder
1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
1/2 tablespoon onion powder
1 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons salt
1 pound cubed stew meat (or any other cut in small chunks)
2 Tablespoons fat or oil (lard or tallow)
1 medium sweet onion, diced
1 jalapeno, diced (seeds and veins removed)
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 can local beer
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
Over medium high heat, brown meat in fat in two batches.
Add all ingredients and simmer on low until meat is tender. 2-3 hours for chunked meat, 1 hour for ground meat.
Serve with tacos, burritos, burrito bowls, or nachos.
